The Cleveland Cavaliers are on a roll, winners of three straight, and suddenly looking like the team everyone projected before injuries started piling up. They roll into Orlando tonight trying to make it four against a Magic squad that’s been surprisingly scrappy all season, holding onto the eighth seed in the East with a 38-33 record. Cleveland, sitting at 44-27, has a chance to solidify that fourth spot, maybe even climb higher if things break right.

Thing is, this isn't the same Magic team we’ve laughed at for years. Paolo Banchero has taken a real step, averaging 22.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 5.3 assists in March alone. He dropped 20 points and 10 assists on the Kings last Saturday, showing he’s more than just a scorer. Franz Wagner, another guy who feels like he’s always played well against the Cavs, is putting up 19.3 points a night. They’re long, they’re athletic, and they play hard on defense, giving up just 108.9 points per game this season, a top-five mark in the league.

**Donovan Mitchell's Return Changes Everything, But Not Everything**

The biggest story for the Cavs has been the return of Donovan Mitchell. He missed seven games with a knee injury and came back Tuesday against the Heat, dropping 23 points and eight assists in a 107-103 win. That's a good sign, obviously. The team just looks different with him out there, the offense flows better, and his ability to create off the dribble opens up so much for guys like Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen. Cleveland's offense, which can get a little stagnant, suddenly has that pop again.

But let's be real: Mitchell can't do it all, every night. The Cavs need more consistent secondary scoring. Garland has been up and down this season; he had 20 points against Miami but shot just 7-for-18. When Mitchell was out, Garland was supposed to be "the guy" and he often struggled with that responsibility, averaging 14.7 points and 6.0 assists on 35.8% shooting in the seven games Mitchell missed. Max Strus, while hitting a huge three late against the Heat, has been wildly inconsistent. He was 2-for-9 from deep against Miami. You can't rely on him to be the third scorer every night, and that's a problem against a long, physical team like Orlando.

Jarrett Allen, though, has been a revelation. He's quietly having a career year, averaging 16.2 points and 10.8 rebounds. He’s been a monster on the boards and an anchor defensively, especially important with Evan Mobley’s various injury issues. Allen had 15 points and 16 rebounds in that win over Miami. His consistency is what's keeping the Cavs afloat when the perimeter shooting isn't there.

This isn't just about Mitchell showing up; it's about Garland finding his rhythm alongside Mitchell. It's about Strus hitting shots he's paid to hit. It's about Mobley getting healthy and staying healthy, though he's missed four of the last seven games. If the Cavs want to do anything in the playoffs, they need multiple threats, not just one superstar carrying the load. They barely scraped by a shorthanded Heat team earlier this week, and the Magic are a much tougher out at home.

I think the Magic pull off the upset tonight. The Cavs are still integrating Mitchell back, and Orlando's defense at home is stifling. Banchero will have a big game, and the Magic win 104-100.
